Susceptibility to the rubber hand illusion has been found to function as a marker of individual differences such as empathy. Though a self-touch illusion has been regarded as a variation of the rubber hand illusion, we have found the susceptibility to the self-touch illusion does not positively correlate with the ownership susceptibility in the rubber hand illusion and the inter personal reflex index. Based on this result, we discuss prospects of individual differences research focusing on the self-touch illusion.
